How Service History Is Reflected in Display History

Learn how actions recorded during service visits become part of a Display’s history, and how technicians and supervisors can use that history to understand previous care and maintain consistency.

Where Display History comes from

When a technician completes a service visit, the actions recorded for individual Displays are saved in each Display’s history. This means the service visit report is not the only place to review what happened: the record is also available from the Display itself.

Display History brings together the available records for that Display, including maintenance actions, replacement history, display notes, and edit history. The history gives the team a shared record that can be checked during future visits.

Open a Display’s history

In the Back Office, open the relevant Service Site and go to the Display list for the Service. Click the plus icon next to the Display picture and choose “View history”.

The History window contains filters that let you show or hide Display notes, maintenance history, replacement history, and edit history. Use these options to focus on the information you need.

Understand what appears in the history

Maintenance actions recorded during a service visit, such as watering, fertilizing, or pest processing, appear in Display History with the date and author. Other recorded actions, such as a Display being marked as missing or marked as having no access, can appear there as well.

Display notes are comments that can be added by both technicians and supervisors. They may describe an observation, customer request, access detail, or something the next person should know. Notes are specific to the Display rather than the entire Service Site.

Replacement history helps the team review replacement-related activity for the Display, while edit history shows available changes made to the record. The History window can display these categories separately using the checkboxes at the top.

How this relates to the service visit report

The service visit report summarizes the work recorded during a particular visit. Display History provides the longer-term view for one Display across visits. Use the report when you need to understand what happened on a given date; use Display History when you need to check the Display’s ongoing maintenance and change record.

For example, a supervisor reviewing a service visit can see which Displays were watered or fertilized during that round. Later, if another technician is assigned to the same site, they can open each Display’s history to check the previous recorded care instead of relying on memory or asking the previous technician.

This shared history supports consistency when technicians rotate, helps the team follow up on observations, and makes it easier to understand the background of a Display before carrying out further work.

Practical tips

  • Check Display History before servicing a Display when you need context from previous visits.

  • Use the history filters to focus on maintenance, notes, replacements, or edits instead of reviewing every category at once.

  • Add clear, specific notes when an observation could help the next technician or supervisor.

  • Remember that Display History is specific to one Display; use the service visit report for an overview of the full visit.
