Assignment History and Tracking

Learn where to find completed Assignments and how to use their history for operational follow-up.

Where do completed Assignments go?

When an Assignment is completed or canceled, it moves into the Assignment report. This provides a historical record of tasks that have been closed.

What can I use Assignment history for?

Assignment history is useful when you need to confirm what work was completed, review follow-through, or look back at tasks assigned to the team. It can also provide useful documentation when you need to understand what happened after a task was created.

Understanding Assignment statuses

Assignments use four statuses:

  • Open - the task has been created and still needs to be completed.

  • In Progress - work on the task is underway.

  • Completed - the defined task has been carried out.

  • Canceled - the task has been closed without being completed.

If the work is only partially complete or blocked, do not mark the Assignment as completed just to remove it from the open list.

How does Assignment tracking help day to day?

Assignment tracking gives the team a shared view of what needs to be done, who owns it, and what has already been completed.

Assignments are synchronized between the Back Office and mobile app, so field and office teams work from the same information.

All open and closed Assignments for a particular Service Site are also available on the Service Site card in the Assignments tab.

Practical tips

  • Use an Issue when the problem itself needs to be tracked.

  • Use an Assignment when a specific action needs an owner.

  • Use a Display Note when you only need to preserve useful context.
