Welcome to the mobile app
The One Big Green mobile app is designed for your work in the field, whether you are caring for plants, checking Service Sites, recording updates, or tracking your working time. This guide introduces the main screens and explains where to find the information and tools you use during your day.
Open the main menu
Tap the hamburger icon in the top-left corner to open the main menu. The menu gives you quick access to your workday controls and the main sections of the app.
At the top, you can see whether your working day is running, paused, or not yet started. When your working day is running, the menu also shows your current job, its start time, and the type of activity. If you are not currently working on a job, the menu tells you that no job is in progress.
Use the controls at the top of the menu to manage your working day:
Tap “Start my working day” to start recording your day.
Tap “Pause” when you take a break, and resume your working day when you are ready.
Tap “Stop my working day” when you finish for the day.
Tap “Clarify a time entry” to add an explanation when something irregular happened during the working day or a time entry needs clarification.
The main menu also contains these sections:
Schedule - view jobs for today, earlier dates, and future dates.
Service sites - find Service Sites and open their details.
Issues - view issues assigned to you or created by you.
Assignments - view assignments assigned to you or created by you.
Replacements - follow replacement requests and their progress.
Timesheets - review recorded working time for previous days.
Offline Data - check information available for offline work. Actions waiting to synchronize may also be shown in Saved Actions when relevant.
Open your personal menu
Tap your avatar in the top-right corner to open your personal menu. In addition to links to help and support, this menu includes Personal notification settings. The help and support options are covered separately, so this guide focuses on notification preferences.
Configure personal notification settings
Open Personal notification settings to choose which notifications you want to receive. Depending on the notification type and the options available to your user, you can configure notifications in the mobile app, push notifications, email notifications, and notifications in the Back Office.
Review the available notification categories and channels and enable the ones that help you stay informed about work that matters to you. These are personal preferences, so each user should check their own settings rather than assume that a colleague has the same notifications enabled.
Enable push notifications if you want supported alerts to appear on your mobile device.
Review email notification options if you want supported updates sent to your email address.
Review Back Office notification options if you also work with OBG in a browser.
The exact options may vary by notification type. If you are missing an expected alert, check both the relevant personal notification settings and the notification permissions on your device, where applicable.
Find and open a Service Site
Open Service sites from the main menu. The list shows the Service Sites available to you, with a search field to help you find a particular location. Site cards can show the Service type, a location label such as a floor or “all site,” and the number of Displays associated with the site.
Tap a Service Site to open it. The tabs you see depend on whether you are browsing the Service Site outside a visit or have opened it as part of an active visit. Outside a visit, the app helps you explore site information and scheduled work; during a visit, it presents the workflow for completing that job.
Service Site tabs when you are browsing outside a visit
When you open a Service Site from the general Service sites section, you can navigate between the following tabs. Depending on the available screen width, you may need to swipe the tab row horizontally to see every tab.
Services - view the Services provided at the location, including assigned technicians and supervisors, visit frequency, and contract type where available. Open the relevant Service to see its field inventory and related work.
Displays - browse the Displays associated with a Service. Use the available filters, such as Service, Floor, or Zone, to narrow the list. You can switch between the available display-order views.
Visits - review scheduled and past visits for the site. Use the date selector and the Service and technician filters to find the relevant work.
Extras - see additional work and follow-up items associated with the site, including Assignments and Replacements, and use the available controls to filter the list.
Site info - review general site details, including the address, reference code, opening hours, general details, photos, attachments, contacts, and site instructions such as access, parking, delivery, or water-source information, when provided.
Site notes - review the timeline of notes recorded for the Service Site. Notes can provide useful context from previous visits and other work.
Tabs when you open a scheduled visit
When you open a job from your schedule and enter the visit workflow, the tabs are organized around completing that visit. The labels shown in the supplied app screens include Start, Regular, Extra, Finish, Site info, and Site notes. Depending on the job and screen width, some tabs may sit outside the visible area and require horizontal scrolling.
Start - review the task overview, regular work, visit instructions, photo requirements, and open extras.
Regular - work through the regular service tasks and Displays associated with the visit.
Extra - access additional work or extras associated with the visit.
Finish - complete the visit workflow and provide the required completion information.
Site info - check practical details and instructions for the Service Site while you work.
Site notes - review notes that may help you understand previous work or site-specific concerns.
Use the visit tabs to complete the work in the intended order and check any instructions or required photos before finishing. For step-by-step guidance on recording your working day and completing work in the app, see the separate Knowledge Base article on working time and visit logging.
Use the other work sections
The main menu provides dedicated sections for Issues, Assignments, Replacements, and Timesheets. These sections help you follow your own work and keep track of items you have raised.
Issues
The Issues screen has two tabs:
Assigned to me - issues assigned to you that need your attention.
Created by me - issues you reported, so you can follow their progress.
Issue cards show a short description, the related Service Site, and the current status. Open an issue to review its details. A separate Knowledge Base article explains how to work with Issues in the mobile app.
Assignments
The Assignments screen also has two tabs:
Assigned to me - tasks assigned to you.
Created by me - tasks you created for others.
Cards show the assignment name, related Service Site, and status. Open an assignment to review the details and carry out the available actions. See the separate Knowledge Base article for step-by-step instructions on working with Assignments.
Replacements
The Replacements screen includes Assigned to me and Created by me tabs. Use the filters at the top, such as Service Site and status, to narrow the list. Replacement cards can show the plant or replacement item, its location, the Service Site, and its current stage, such as Reviewing, Sourcing, or Delivering.
Open a replacement request to see its details and available actions. For the full workflow, use the separate Knowledge Base article about working with replacement requests in the mobile app.
Timesheets
Open Timesheets to review your recorded time for a selected date. The screen summarizes total time worked and breaks it down by activity, such as Service Visits, Deliveries, Quality Inspections, Unplanned Activities, Commute, and Breaks. The table below lists individual time entries with the activity, Service Site where relevant, start time, finish time, and time spent. Total distance traveled may also be shown.
Timesheets are compiled and sent to the Back Office at the end of each day, so fully closed records are normally available for previous working days.
Work with a weak or unavailable connection
The Offline Data section at the bottom of the main menu lets you check the information downloaded for offline work. If actions are waiting to synchronize, check Saved Actions. The app can store supported actions locally and synchronize them when the connection returns. Before entering an area with poor reception, open the app while online so the information needed for upcoming work can be downloaded.
A separate Knowledge Base article explains offline work and synchronization in more detail. Remember that newly scheduled work may not be available offline if it was added after your app downloaded its data.
Practical tips
Open the main menu to check whether your working day is running and which job is currently active.
Use “Clarify a time entry” to explain irregularities rather than leaving unclear time records.
Check your personal notification settings and device permissions if expected push notifications do not appear.
When browsing a Service Site, remember that its tabs differ from the tabs shown inside an active visit.
Check the visit instructions, photo requirements, and site-specific information before starting or finishing work.
Use the Assigned to me and Created by me tabs to distinguish work you need to do from items you have raised.
Before entering an area with poor reception, open the app online and check Offline Data.
