Offline Data and Saved Actions are different
Offline Data and Saved Actions serve two different purposes in the One Big Green mobile app.
Offline Data gives you the information you need to work on your upcoming schedule without an internet connection. Saved Actions keep track of what you do in the app while offline.
What is included in Offline Data?
Whenever you open the app while connected to the internet, it downloads the information needed for your next two working days. This includes your schedule, Service Site information, Displays, pending replacements, issues, assignments, and other relevant information for the sites scheduled for those upcoming dates.
As new days are added, past records are automatically cleared to keep offline storage light and focused on upcoming work.
To check what is available offline, open the Offline Data section in the mobile app. Review the dates shown there before entering an area with poor or no reception.
Keep in mind that the app cannot download updates while you are offline. If a visit is added to your schedule after your connection is lost, you will not have the information for that newly scheduled Service Site available offline. Before entering an area with weak reception, ask your supervisor to make sure your schedule is finalized as far as possible.
What are Saved Actions?
If you complete an action while the app is offline, the app stores it locally on your device as a Saved Action. This lets you continue working even when your phone cannot connect to the server.
Saved Actions can include starting or finishing a shift, completing a service job, updating Service Site or Display information, and submitting a replacement request. Display notes are also saved as Saved Actions. If you complete a job while offline, the service visit report, delivery report, or quality inspection report you complete is saved as a Saved Action as well. You can also continue working with available issues and assignments while offline.
Open the Saved Actions section to see which actions are waiting to synchronize.
How synchronization works
When your device reconnects to the internet, Saved Actions synchronize automatically. This sends the actions stored on your device to One Big Green so your work can be reflected in the system.
You do not need to manually resubmit every action simply because you completed it offline. When the connection is restored, allow the app time to synchronize. You can check the Saved Actions section to see what is waiting to sync.
Practical tips
Before entering an area without reception, open the app while online and check Offline Data to confirm that the dates you need have been downloaded.
Ask your supervisor to finalize your schedule before you enter an area with weak reception. Visits added after you go offline will not bring their Service Site information onto your device.
Remember the difference: Offline Data gives you the information you need for upcoming work; Saved Actions keep track of the actions you perform while offline.
Display notes and service visit, delivery, and quality inspection reports completed while offline are saved as Saved Actions and synchronize when you reconnect.
If the app keeps switching between online and offline because the connection is unstable, switch off mobile data and use full Offline Mode until you return to an area with a stable connection.
